featuring Ryan Sartin: Escape

RR PRJCT SPACE is an exploration in contemporary artwork from new and emerging artists in New York City and beyond. The addition of the RR PRJCT SPACE is to further integrate the sense of community as well an additional layer of luxury for our members. We believe that a fitness facility can be both inspiring physically, creatively and mentally. Our first show “Ryan Sartin: Escape” coincides with our official spin studio opening on Wednesday, September 5th from 6-8pm. We will showcase new paintings from Sartin, a Brooklyn transplant now based in New Orleans.

Raised in the Midwest, Ryan Sartin is a conceptual abstract painter with emphasis on materials such as fabric, plastics, gold leaf, mud, and ash. A former touring drummer, Sartin finds inspiration in places visited and the various cultural values and meanings placed on objects and spaces. For years he was involved in the DIY art and music scene of Brooklyn, staging several multidisciplinary art spectacles. Combining familiar materials of the home such as upholstery, wallpaper, and bedding, his work merges interests of the everyday with themes of the phenomenon found within ceremonies, decoration, and mysticism. His process at times involves patterning, cutting, repairing, masking, and making a mess. Sartin received his BFA from Hunter College and has exhibited paintings and installations in various galleries and spaces around New York City, New Orleans, Missouri, and California. Sartin lives and works in New Orleans, LA
